From our home in Holland, we bring ultimate indulgence to an international audience. Everywhere we go – 11 countries and counting – we receive rave reviews, especially from Italians. With their thorough understanding of good food, we consider this a huge compliment. Our second home is the United Arab Emirates, where people from all over the world have truly embraced mini pancakes. We see the same happening during the Holiday Season in London, one of the world’s Christmas capitols. We share our passion for mini pancakes through the quality of our product, the friendliness of our service, and the enthusiasm of our young, multilingual crew.
Hard work, good entrepreneurship and excellent quality in product and service made it possible for us to expand fast. We have participated in several seasons of Dubai’s number 1 winter destination Global Village, earning us their Best Retail Award in 2014. Thanks to our custom-built food truck, we were one of the highlights at EXPO2015 in Milan. (Our former Prime Minister even gave his seal of approval!). In Italy, the Netherlands and Germany we participate in several touring markets and food festivals. In 2017 Michelin star and tv chef Björn Freitag featured us in his show Der Vorkoster on German broadcaster WDR.
In the UK, we expanded from Edinburgh’s Christmas festival to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, London’s premiere winter holiday destination, and Christmas at Leicester Square and Southbank. We’ve also been found flipping up a frenzy at the Augustusmarkt in Dresden, Mamaia beach resort in Romania, La Défense in Paris, and at international markets in Sweden, Austria and Denmark. That makes a total of 11 countries hooked on our little taste of heaven, and we’re working on expanding to China as well.
Our company culture
Professionalism is key for us. It is the only way to guarantee the best mini pancakes over and over again. We know our markets well, which lets us accurately anticipate specific local demand. Our international crew speaks a wide range of languages, interacting effortlessly with customers to create a friendly, fun and festive atmosphere.
Our colorful cartoon mascot, Pofman, gets his name from the Dutch word for mini pancakes (poffertjes). This happy little fella and his friends were created exclusively for us by Sicco Kingma, the creative force behind the successful animated series Bamboo Bears, airing in 42 countries worldwide. From our product to our marketing, we always work with the best to deliver the ultimate experience.
At home in the UAE
Everywhere we go, we get rave reviews, especially in the United Arab Emirates. We’re a regular at Global Village, Dubai’s leading seasonal event, winning their Best Retail Award in 2014.
We also take part in local events like Taste of Dubai, Taste of Abu Dhabi, Modhesh World, Ramadan Night Market, Out Of The Box Market at Burj Kalifa and Aloha Beach Festival in Abu Dhabi. We’ve come to consider the UAE our second home, opening a permanent outlet in Dubai so mini pancakes are now on the menu there all year round.
We’re committed to responsibly managing our impact on the environment. All our serving and packaging materials are 100% biodegradable and PEFC certified. Our chalets are constructed with FSC certified wood and exclusively use LED lighting. We work with electric ovens instead of gas and separate our waste for recycling.
Corporate social responsibility
Outstanding service is a core company value — not only towards our clients and partners, but society as a whole as well. In Holland, we work with the Make A Wish Foundation to share a small taste of joy with terminally ill children and their families. In all our partnerships, our guiding principle is that change on a practical everyday level has the most impact.
Exceptional safety & hygiene
Our commitment to eliminate the use of gas for safety and environmental reasons is exceptional in the industry. Our trained staff work to HACCP standards and in fact, London’s Royal Parks gave us one of the highest hygiene scores of all vendors at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland. State-of-the-art equipment was specially developed in-house. Most of it is handcrafted, but when our high standards require it, cutting-edge laser techniques are used as well to make our electric and LED ranges.
